Amazon plans to open Fulfillment Center in Auburndale.The facility will employee more than 500 full-time workers.
Amazon announced on Wednesday it plans to open a new fulfillment center in Auburndale, Florida. The development of 1.1 million-square-foot fulfillment center started by ProLogis, located on C. Fred Jones Boulevard.
Amazon’s Auburndale fulfillment center will be used to pick, pack and ship large items to customers such as larger household goods, fishing rods, sports equipment, pet food, patio furniture, kayaks and bicycles.
“Auburndale is pleased to have Amazon join the family of businesses that call our City home,” said Tim Pospichal, Mayor of Auburndale.
“We look forward to the opportunities this fulfillment center will provide the residents of our City.” he added.
Amazon’s new facility will create more than 500 full-time jobs, minimum wage to $15 an hour with a comprehensive benefits package, including full medical, vision, and dental insurance as well as a 401(k) with 50 percent match starting on day one.

In total, Amazon has more than 13,500 full-time employees in the state of Florida.
